Chief Toyin Banjo is a seasoned banker and financial strategist with over three decades of experience spanning commercial, investment, and mortgage banking, as well as corporate advisory and asset management. He began his career with Arthur Andersen Consulting, where he was recruited into the Graduate Development Programme for the erstwhile Allied Bank Plc. Starting as an Analyst, he received extensive training in both domestic and international banking operations, developing core competencies in Trade Services and Operations.
Mr. Banjo gained significant exposure at Lead Merchant Bank Plc (Investment Bankers) and United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, where he served as Head of Corporate Strategy and was a key member of the Corporate Transformation Team. He further deepened his expertise at Intercontinental Bank Plc (now Access Bank Plc), where he led the Multinationals and later Commercial Banking divisions.
His experience includes capital raising (debt, equity, and hybrid instruments), financial advisory services (mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, privatization advisory, and project financing). In 2009, he spearheaded the strategic acquisition of Cornerstone Mortgage Bank Limited, becoming its Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director. Under his leadership, the bank—then 18 years old and headquartered in Marina, Lagos—achieved notable growth and industry recognition In October 2011, he joined the acquisition advisory team at FCMB Plc for the successful acquisition of Finbank Plc. He subsequently served as Zonal Head for Lagos Business until the merger’s conclusion in November 2012
